Elizabeth has a wealth of experience in bridalwear and is delighted to present her ingenious 3-in-1 eco-friendly wedding gown, pictured below (patent/copyright pending).
"Sweet Avalanche" is made primarily from an antique lace tablecloth which has been embellished with a selection of vintage beads and sequins rescued from broken necklaces and trims. It has a full train which is lined with a stunning organic silk and hemp fabric and is shown with an empire sash also made from silk & hemp.
It has a "secret" lining in the form of a fully boned, couture-construction sleeveless dress "Tennyson" which can be worn in its own right with a contrast empire sash, and bears little - if any - resemblance to the original wedding gown. Tennyson is made from organic silk & hemp and lined with organic cotton sateen together with some rescued curtain linings.
The Hope&Glory bride thus has not only a beautiful eco-friendly gown to wear on her wedding day, but also a stunning dress to wear on another occasion. If desired we can then transform the vintage lace from her wedding dress into a Christening gown or other garment.
